Solid Conditioner – MB (RSPO Mass Balance Certified) is a melt and pour haircare base. This solid block is intended to be cut into smaller pieces and then melted down and poured into a mold or container of a formulator’s choice. Once the block is melted and stirred, additives such as fragrance or essential oils, colorants, and conditioning agents can be mixed in to create your desired product. The additives selected must be oil soluble as this base does not contain water. The recommended additive input should not exceed 5% of the product, including a recommended 2% fragrance maximum. The solid conditioner base is largely comprised of cetearyl alcohol and glyceryl stearate, with smaller amounts of conditioning agents such as shea nut butter and coconut oil. Hair conditioning bars have been steadily increasing on the market as consumers seek to reduce plastic packaging. All palm-derived ingredients in this product are compliant with the RSPO MB (Mass Balance) Certification. One of four certification levels offered by the RSPO, Mass Balance certification allows the overall production of both RSPO and non-RSPO certified palm oil to maintain an even balance, hence its Mass Balance designation, with administrative traceability of the input and mixing of RSPO and non-RSPO certified palm oil, but at controlled quantities.
